Orient, Zoysia grasses were first introduced to the United States more than

Empire
Zoysia is dark green, wide bladed grass. It has a rapid expansion
rate and is naturally chemical resistant, which equates to easier weed control.
Empire was discovered in Brazil and unlike other Zoysia varieties has proven
its ability to thrive in hot, humid conditions. It performs well in sandy and
clay soil types. It requires less maintenance and mowing than other grasses
such as Fescue or Bermuda.
